Dorothy "Dottie" Stevens Allen McCaffrey, age 85, of Long Beach, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
She retired from Long Beach Public Schools after 34 years in several capacities. She loved sports, especially high school football and the New Orleans Saints. She was an avid Race fan and was honored Saturday night at the Hattiesburg Speedway with a memorial lap and bouquet in the place where she always sat. "She finished her race."
Mrs. McCaffrey was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Charles "Blue" Allen; her second husband, Richard McCaffrey; her parents, Thomas Preston and Amanda King Stevens; and her brother, Joe O'Neal.
She is survived by her children, Ricky Williams (Julie) of Long Beach, Mandy McKinley (Steve) of Kiln, Sissy Allen Barham of Long Beach; grandchildren, Brittani Freeman (Kevin), Brandy Freeman (Andrew), Chris Allen (Rita); three great grandchildren, Raeleigh Riley, Skyler Allen, and Camden Allen.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, from 6-8pm.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in the funeral home chapel at 10am.
Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery.
