Dot was born 18 Aug 1927, in Eufaula AL, to Mary K. and Eugene M. (Hank) Schmitt. She moved to Gulfport at age 2 and called Gulfport, MS, home. Dot grew up working in the family business, 10th Street Grocery, and was a life-long member of St John's Catholic Church, where she attended school until graduation in 1945. She retired from the Saint Paul's School (SPS), Covington LA, in 1988, after 14 years as the school nurse. At the news of her death, the principal wrote; ""What a strong, courageous, generous, faithful and good lady she was! She will live on in the hearts of her wonderful family - and here at SPS, too. She is indeed a ""part of SPS."" After retirement she became involved in numerous volunteer endeavors including: the Red Cross, St John's Alter Society, and Young at Heart. She was a faithful visitor of the homebound and infirmed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Mary & Hank Schmitt; her oldest son, Michael E. Jenner; and daughter-in-law, Sarah J. Jenner.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Jenner of Gulfport, MS; her siblings, Sister Emilie Schmitt OSB of Cullman, AL, and Elizabeth Cucchiara of Melbourne, FL; daughter, Melanie (Larry) Clark of Gulfport; son, Mark (Becky) Jenner of Pass Christian, MS; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jack) Wittmann of Gulfport, Sammy (Hollie) Jenner of Ocean Springs, Lauren Clark and fianceÌ Michael Santa Cruz of Gulfport, and Michael (Jamie) Jenner Jr. of Ocean Springs. She was a blessing to all who knew her and was a wonderful sister, nurse, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
