Dorothy Dianne Antwine

Dorothy Dianne “Dee Dee” Antwine, 79, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Born on April 30, 1946, in Gulfport, Mississippi, Dee Dee was the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy Hayden. She grew up along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and graduated from Pass Christian High School. Her passion for education led her to the University of Southern Mississippi, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and a Master of Education.

Dee Dee dedicated her professional life to guiding and supporting young people as a school counselor. She served at Long Beach Middle School and later at Stone County High School, where her commitment to students left a lasting impact on many lives.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Clifton “Pete” Antwine; her sister, Cindy Andersen; her sons, Dr. Jeffrey Matherne (Dr. Katherine Billups) and Daniel Matherne; and her stepdaughters, Paula (Tracy) Wilson and Victoria (Jean) Galloway. Dee Dee was a proud grandmother to Jacqueline Matherne, Jillian Matherne, and Joseph Matherne; and step-grandmother to Richard Meuse, Elizabeth Meuse, Megan Touchstone, and Cameron Galloway. She also leaves behind two step-great-grandchildren: Kal El Meuse and Lillith McClendon.

Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Hayden, and her brother Joseph (Linda) Hayden.

A visitation will be 9:30am - 11:00am on May 19, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Homes, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, MS honoring a life filled with love for family and dedication to students. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched—both in her family and among the students she so passionately supported. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
