Doris Osswald, age 86 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Friday, December 7, 2012, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Osswald was a native of Pittsburgh, PA and had been a resident of Long Beach since 1965. She was a graduate of Western Reserve University and was a faithful baseball fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and football fan of the New Orleans Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percival & Barbara Roberts and her husband, Richard Lee Osswald.
Mrs. Osswald is survived by her children, Rick (Elizabeth) Osswald of Pass Christian and Joyce (Stephen) Rigby of Gettysburg, PA and her grandson, David A. (Stephanie) Holloway of Washington, DC.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 3pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Akula Foundation (Canon Hospice), 1520 Broad Avenue, Suite 500, Gulfport, MS 39501 or to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
