She graduated from Gulfport High School, Class of 1937, and attended Perkinston Junior College before marrying her childhood sweetheart and husband of 73 years, Robert (Bob) Lynn Moody, Sr. Although they lost their home on Second Street to Hurricane Katrina, they would not consider moving from Gulfport, the town they loved and have always called home.

She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs over the years. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, reading, and boating on the family boat, The Ballyhoo.
