Donald Wayne Crosby, a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on July 16, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 23, 1947, in Great Bend, Kansas, Donald was the son of Henry Edward "H.E." and Betty Crosby, who preceded him in death. He also mourned the loss of his sister, Katherine Wilson.
Donald’s professional life was marked by dedication and expertise, having built a commendable career as a Contracts Administrator with Lockheed Martin. His journey took him to various locations, including Denver, Houston, and Diamondhead, where he made lasting contributions and connections in the aerospace industry.
A proud Marine, Donald served honorably in the Vietnam War, displaying the valor and commitment that characterized his service. His military background remained an integral part of his identity, influencing his active involvement in the Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2880 and the Diamondhead Marine Corps League #1454, where he fostered camaraderie and support among fellow veterans.
Donald pursued his education with determination, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from the Kansas State University followed by an MBA from the University of Phoenix. His love for learning exemplified a commitment to personal and professional growth.
In his personal life, Donald was an outdoor enthusiast who cherished the beauty of nature. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and playing golf, often sharing these passions with his family and friends. His vibrant personality and love for nature resonated with those around him, making him a cherished companion and source of inspiration.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jo Ann Crosby, affectionately known as “Jodi,” who was his steadfast partner throughout life's journey. He is also survived by his daughter, Georganne Elemond, and her husband, Bryce. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his siblings: Edward Crosby, Larry Crosby, Steven Crosby, Jackie Reed, and Sherry Peschka. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit in their hearts.
