Donald Wayne "Smiley" Simmons

Donald Wayne ""Smiley "" Simmons, age 46, died peacefully on Easter April 5, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends after a brief battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Simmons, brother Randy Simmons, maternal grandparents John & Lillie Shavers, paternal grandparents James and Nellie Simmons.
He is survived by his daughter, Olivia Simmons; his loving and devoted caretaker and mother, Lillie Simmons; his sisters, Donna ( Tim ) Cameron and Sandy ( Justin ) Holke; nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Joley Cameron, Cody Paige, James and Cianna Holke, Kimberly, Randy and Jaiden Simmons.
Smiley worked for the Kiln Water Department for 20 years. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed everyone and everything with a ""BIG SMILEY "". He spent many days helping others with tournaments, cook offs, and whatever needed to be done. One of his favorite past times was fishing. Smiley was always ready for corn hole or pool tournaments.
Smiley's mother and sisters would like to express their deepest appreciation and special thanks to Stevie and Mabel Haas for their undivided love and support, and for never leaving his side during this difficult time. Also, thanks to his Broke Spoke family. Smiley's family and friends came from all over and from as far away as California, Florida, and Wisconsin during his last weeks to say their goodbyes. Most of all, they wanted him to know how loved he was.
Smiley's family would like to say thank you to all of his family and friends for all the love, support, and prayers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Kiln Delisle Road, from 6-10pm.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 11am. Friends may visit one hour prior.
Burial will follow in Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
