Donald "Don" Lee Saylor, of Woolmarket, passed away on May 20, 2018 in Biloxi, MS.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Kristin (David) Lipscomb; grandchildren, Aiden and Brooklyn Lipscomb; sisters, Sue Metz (Ken), Nancy Kunnemann, and Pam Speeks; brother-in-law, William "Joe" Overal (Rose), and sister-in-law, Peggy Caldwell (Michael); nieces and nephews, Cody, Gregg, Shanna, and Jaimee Metz, Erin (Wysong) Hallet , Josh and Alaina Boggs, Nicole Billingsley and Jesse Speeks, Matthew, Brent and Kyle Caldwell, Joseph, Andrew, and Sean Overal and numerous great nieces, great nephews, & two great-great nephews. His beloved canine companion, Sophie, was always at his side.
Don worked 18 years at Kmart Warehouse and then 22 years at Ft. Wayne Metals both in Fort Wayne, IN. He retired in 2013, and he and his wife, Linda, moved to Biloxi, MS. Don's hobbies included golf, cooking, fishing, bowling, gardening, match book collecting and he was known for his outgoing personality. As a young boy he was quite the athlete, excelling in hockey and golf. Don took much pleasure enjoying local craft beer with his friends and loved "working" at Lazy Magnolia Brewery in Kiln, MS. He never met a stranger, was a friend to many, was deeply loved by family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Elda (Griebel) Saylor; and brother-in-laws, Phillip Speeks and Chris Boggs.
To honor Don's wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of a Life Well Lived will be held at a later date to be announced.
