Donald Alvin Caserta, age 80, of Diamondhead, formerly of Waveland and New Orleans, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Mr. Caserta was a born in New Orleans to William Alvin and Helen Marie Bougere Caserta. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School and Louisiana State University. He worked in and retired from the insurance industry. He was a resident of the Whispering Pines community in Waveland for 30 years leading up to Katrina. He was a lector at St. Clare Catholic Church and served his royal subjects as King of Nereids in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Mendow Caserta; son, David Caserta; daughter, Diane Caserta; and brother, Timothy Caserta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Clare Catholic Church, Waveland, on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 11:30am. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church.
Burial will be at a later date in New Orleans.
