Dolores Byrd

Dolores L. Byrd, age 88, of Gulfport, passed away on August 23, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmy" Byrd; parents, Peck and Minnie Coleman and Hugh Long; a sister, Marian Lacy; and a step-daughter, Charlice Garner.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Trena (John) Wyatt and Janet (John) Erickson; a step-daughter, Debbie (Lee) Turner; step-son, Steve Byrd; 2 grandchildren who were the light of her life, Conner and Alexa Smith; and other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Club 47, Handsboro Presbyterian Church, and the Harrison County Extension Service. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, coloring, and flower arranging. She was a loving and caring person and was known by many as the "Purple Lady."
Visitation will be on Monday, August 28, 2017, from 11 am - 12 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 12 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery. Online tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com
