Dianne Lynn Cole

Dianne Lynn Cole, age 79 of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “Sonny” Cole, Jr.; her parents, Edward N. Collins and Ruth Driver Collins; her father and mother-in-law, Dr. Eugene Cole and Emma Cole; her sister, Deborah Collins Brown; her nephews, Justin Drew Brown and Jeffrey J. Fisher and her brother-in-law, James Fisher.

Dianne is survived by her son, Chad C. Cole (Stephanie); her granddaughter, Chloe Cole; her sisters, Tammy Smith (Mike) and Beverly Fisher; her brother-in-law, Garry Brown (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi, Dianne was a proud graduate of Gulfport High School. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Sonny. Together, they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Dianne dedicated many years to serving others through her work. She spent 16 years at St. John Elementary School as a computer teacher, where she enjoyed being part of the lives of her students and colleagues. After retiring from the school, she began a second career at Hancock Bank as an administrative assistant to a private banking manager. She remained there for 14 years before retiring once again.

Above all, Dianne treasured her family and the time they shared together. She especially cherished spending time with her granddaughter, who held a very special place in her heart. Dianne also enjoyed going to the movies and shopping with her longtime friend, Paulette Swarthout, creating many wonderful memories along the way.

Dianne will be lovingly remembered for the life she shared with Sonny, the love she gave to her family, and the many friendships and memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
