Denise Hardy was born in Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast. She attended St. Martin High School and went on to obtain her cosmetology license working in a number of salons on the Coast, although she left the profession early on she proudly maintained her license for the duration of her life. Denise was an exceptional and trusted book keeper having worked at the Broadwater Hotel, the Isle of Capri Casino payroll department and Maverick, LCC as property manager.
First and foremost Denise was an intuitive and artistic person who enjoyed doing pottery, drawing, painting, and making jewelry. She was a prolific potter and has left behind an extensive body of work representing the most creative and productive period of her life. Of her many accomplishments her pottery in particular remains as a testament to her creativity and extraordinary work ethic. Those who knew Denise appreciated her work ethic that was so evident in her landscaping which she kept impeccably manicured. Order, dignity, loyalty, morality, compassion and integrity was evident in her work and her character leaving her little patience or tolerance for contemporary trends in secular entertainment.
Denise had a tremendous compassion for animals especially her two Chihuahuas, Coco and Smokey, which she has joined in heaven. Denise was a good hearted person who never hesitated to help those in need and she enjoyed spending time with friends and her special needs great niece, Destiny. Denise had a witty sense of humor and always made you laugh, she loved to dance and was a fan of R&B music and the King of Pop Michael Jackson.
Denise was raised in the Catholic Church and maintained her faith in God and Jesus Christ. Among her keepsakes kept with her at all times are the Consecration to the Sacred Heart and the Prayer to St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls. Later in life Denise was heartbroken after the death of her two beloved pets Coco and Smokey and she took strength in two of her favorite quotes:
""Grace - Those moments when one more step feels impossible, when the world seems its absolute evil-worst, grace comes. In the form of surprise blessings, help you don't ask for, a sudden wash of gratitude, strength, or peace. Grace makes it all doable. It keeps us breathing when life gets airless. Soft when all feels hard. Gentle in harshness. Faith renewed, we can be channels of grace ourselves, giving, serving, and offering where it's most needed."" - beliefnet
""May all sentient beings be at peace and free from suffering."" - Beyond Blue
