Debra Joy "Debby" Evans Douget, 74, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

Debby was born in Mississippi and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1970. She attended art classes at a local junior and high school during her youth and later attended Jefferson Davis Community College for a short time.

She dedicated more than 25 years of service as an outpatient receptionist at Memorial Hospital before retiring.

Debby enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved hummingbirds, watching television game shows, traveling when she was able, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed attending GHS ladies' monthly luncheons with many of her high school friends.

A faithful member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, Debby accepted Christ while there, she was also enrolled in the church's Cradle Roll program. Debby was a republican.

She was preceded in death by her father, William H. Evans Jr.; her mother, Beatrice E. Evans; and her brother, William H. Evans III.

She is survived by her children, Jeremy B. Dumal, Stephanie L. Dearman (Anthony), and Joshua B. Dumal. She is also survived by her sister, Sherri Evans Melancon (Michael).

Debby was the proud grandmother to Victoria Dearman, Kaitlynn Taylor, Bryant Dumal, Garrett Dearman, Krista Dumal, Kori Huguet, and Ashleigh Waltman. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Maverick Ladnier, Judith Waltman, Carter Caudill, Isla Caudill, Joy Waltman, Jessie Waltman III, and Cullen Caudill.

Debby loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She brought joy to those around her and was known for her kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
