Debra Diane (Dee Dee) Johnson Bradford, age 72, of Trussville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. She was born to Mary Cox and Edward Johnson.
Dee Dee was a devoted mother, daughter, and sister who was known throughout her life for her dedication, reliability, kindness, and strong work ethic. She approached life with quiet determination and grace, and her greatest achievements were not measured by titles or awards, but by the love she gave freely, the lives she touched, and the unwavering support she offered to those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Alan Monroe Bradford Jr. (Brandi) and Rusty Bradford; her grandchildren, Cheyenne Bradford, Grace Bradford, David Bradford, and Gabriel Bradford; her brand new great‑grandchild, Lainey Jo Campbell; her parents, Mary Cox and Edward Johnson; and her sisters, Peggy Connell, Brenda Cook, and Barbara Schalin.
Dee Dee attended Mortimer Jordan High School and devoted her career to helping others. She worked for the Social Security Administration, later at the Charles Tyler Clark Social Security Law Firm, and in her later years at the Center Point Senior Center. In every role, she was known for her compassion, patience, and willingness to serve. Generous by nature and deeply charitable, she found purpose in supporting and advocating for those around her.
Dee Dee was a beautiful soul—inside and out. She carried herself with gentle grace and a calm, steady strength that brought comfort to those around her. She was a woman of gentle spirit who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—time spent with family, meaningful conversations, shared laughter, and peaceful moments. Her kindness never sought attention, yet it was deeply felt by all who knew her. Her presence offered peace, her smile brought warmth, and her loving heart left a lasting imprint on everyone she encountered. Family and faith were at the center of Dee Dee’s life, and her love will continue to be felt through those she held dear.
Services will be held at St. Paul’s Chapel in Pass Christian on Friday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations or acts of kindness be made in Dee Dee’s memory.
