Debbie Kay Lawson Campbell

Debbie Kay Lawson Campbell, born on July 29, 1953, in Adak, Alaska, departed this life on July 28, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi, just one day short of turning 72. She bravely faced the challenges presented by terminal cancer. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Homer William Lawson; her mother, Jewell Moore Lawson; her brother, David Lawson; as well as other cherished relatives including cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is survived by her loving husband, Johnnie L. Campbell; her dear cousin, Dixie Miller Mayberry; and her childhood best friend, Donna Payne Tallent.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Debbie will fondly remember her for the joy and happiness with which she greeted friends and acquaintances alike. Her warmth and kindness were as evident as her adventurous spirit, as she traveled across the country alongside her husband, Johnnie L. Campbell of Diamondhead. Supporting him in his work in construction and manufacturing, their travels created cherished memories that underscored the bond they shared.

Debbie enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched her life. She had a passion for bowling and was an avid walker, often seen enjoying strolls with her beloved husband. Additionally, she delighted in attending estate sales and experiencing the thrill of casino gaming. A graduate of Pascagoula High School with the class of 1971, Debbie exhibited a remarkable spirit throughout her life.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport for their compassionate care during Debbie's final days. Her legacy of love and laughter will remain in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us all of the light she brought into the world.
