Dawn Marie Wasserman

Dawn Wasserman, 82, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, formerly of Mokena, Illinois, passed away surrounded by love on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Dawn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick Wasserman, and her sister, Maureen Cary.

She was a devoted mother to her two children, John Wasserman and his wife Glennis, and her daughter Desiree Wasserman Rinehart. Dawn deeply cherished her family and took immense pride in watching it grow across generations.

She is survived by her grandchildren—Michelle Ghere and Christi Elias, Jennifer Ratliff and husband Jason, Jordan Wasserman, Zach Rinehart, Dylan Rinehart, and Jacob Rinehart—each of whom held a special place in her heart. Dawn was also blessed with her great-grandchildren: Jase Ratliff, Jett Ratliff, Rowan Elias, and Gaines Elias, who brought her tremendous joy in her later years.

Dawn is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Turnelius, who remained an important part of her life.

Dawn was known for her love of life—her ability to find joy in everyday moments, her warmth toward others, and her unwavering appreciation for the people she loved. Her spirit, kindness, and laughter made the world brighter for those fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion that will continue to live on in all who loved her.
