David Stewart Orr

David Stewart Orr, age 79, of Waveland, passed away on May 2, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lena Conn Orr; his father, Frank A. Orr, Sr; and a brother, Frank A. Orr, Jr.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce H. Orr; a nephew, Gregg Ballard; great-nieces and nephews, Gregg, Jr, Ryan Geoffrey, Sydney, and Chelsea Ballard; first cousins, Charlotte, Judy, Harold “Mac” Taylor, Audrey Beth Smith, Jim Phillips, Harry and Mike Bahm, Sandy Orr Gudaitis, JoAnn Orr Khoury, Mary L. Orr Lynn Jean Orr Coohey, Michelle Orr, Andron Orr Andrios, Charles F. Orr, Gilbert “Gill” and Donnie Orr; and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Orr was a native of Gulfport and a longtime resident of Waveland.  He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and he spent many years in the oil and gas industry and retired from Louisiana Land and Exploration. He was also an avid Saints fan and Atlanta Braves fan.

My brother-in-law “Stew” as I called him was full of life, always smiling and of course like his father and brother was always quick with a joke or a funny story.  He was a kind hearted man and never knew a stranger.  I can hear you guys laughing and telling jokes.

The graveside service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00am at Conn Cemetery. Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd, Pass Christian served the family.
