David Towne Wright

Mr. David Towne Wright, 71, of Biloxi, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Biloxi.
Mr. Wright was born in Columbus, Indiana to Vernon R. and Margaret Towne Wright Thompson. After high school graduation, he served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired after 21 years. Following active duty, he worked for the civil service at Keesler AFB as inventory and supply manager. He retired from civil service after 21 years. Mr. Wright also worked for several years as a hospitality driver for IP. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, coaching and umpiring softball, and working on cars. He was known for his inventions that helped him work on his cars...all of which usually ""damaged"" his skin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Wilma Wright Hamlin; and his brother, Richard Verne Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Carolyn Wright and Biloxi; children, Vicki Weekley of Leesburg, FL, Karyn Rushing of Biloxi, and Michael David Wright of Gautier; grandchildren, Nichole Meinzinger of Pass Christian, Matthew Wright of Biloxi, Ashley Romines of Biloxi, Magan Merklein of Delaware, Kaylee Wright of Gautier, and Adam Wright of Gautier, Amber Rushing, Lynsey Rushing, and Chandler Rushing , all of Biloxi; great grandchildren, Jackson Meinzinger and Gracie Wright.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force.
