David Louis Wright, a resident of Pass Christian, Mississippi, for the past 10 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2015. David was 68 years old. He was born on September 12, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late George D. Wright Jr. and Lois Oubre Wright. David will be joining his beloved son Edward A. Wright; nephew Tracy D. Wright; his loving parents, and his sister Maxine B. DeRoche in God's Eternal Kingdom. He will be dearly missed here on earth by his daughter Elizabeth W. McKenna (James), his grandchildren David L. and Jeremy G. Hamback, Jack E. and Jared A. McKenna; his brother George L. Wright (Joan); his favorite niece, Sheila W. Walter and a host of cousins and friends.
David was known for his kindness, quick wit and his strong faith in Jesus Christ, his Savior. He spent his youth in Algiers, was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero, LA, and served the United States Air Force with great pride. He retired from Carl E. Woodward, Inc. and chose to spend his last years traveling, learning the Bible and enjoying the peace the world had to offer.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Bible Fellowship Church, 7030 Menge Avenue, Pass Christian, MS, 39571, on Sunday September 20, 2015 at 2:00 PM. David wished to be cremated with his ashes interred in Christian Burial at Biloxi National Cemetery. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.
We would like to sincerely thank Canon Hospice of Gulfport for their empathy and care during his brief stay. Our family encountered love and tenderness at every turn in this facility. For that, we cannot thank you enough.
