David Alfred Weil, Jr., age 84, of Diamondhead, Mississippi, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, in Gulfport, Mississippi. David was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in the Irish Channel neighborhood.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David Alfred Weil, Sr. and Pearl Sanchez Weil, and his siblings, Dennis Weil and Charles Weil.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Earlene Genovese Weil. Together, they built a loving family that includes their children, Belinda Macejak (Peter), David Weil III, Derek Weil, Dane Weil (Lori), Darren Weil, and Dustin Weil (Angela). He is also survived by his brother, Michael Weil (Lisa), and his sister, Mary Weil Morris (Cris). He leaves behind 19 grandchildren, along with great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
David spent his retirement in Diamondhead after moving there from Terrytown, Louisiana. Before retiring, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years. Throughout his working years, he was employed at Hollywood Casino, owned Terrytown TV Service, and also worked for CCTV. David was a member of the Terrytown Lions Club and volunteered with the Terrytown Volunteer Fire Department. He was known as a true “jack of all trades” who enjoyed fishing, woodworking, building furniture, and staying busy with his hands.
He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints and LSU athletics. David also loved dancing and even won a dance contest early in life, a story he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. He was a faithful Catholic and member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. David loved his family and loved making friends. He also had a special place in his heart for his two faithful dogs, Dixie and Austin, who were constant companions through the years. David will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, and the love he shared with everyone who knew him. His family and friends will forever treasure the memories they made together and will miss him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln-DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, Mississippi 39571. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in David’s honor.
