David Earl Serrato

David Earl Serrato, age 38, of Long Beach, passed away on February 20, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clement Earl Cuevas; his grandmother, Clarice Cuevas; a brother, Tony Serrato; and an uncle, Terry Cuevas.

He is survived by his loving parents, David and Pamela Serrato; 2 brothers, Steven Serrato (Jamie) and Ryan Serrato; his grandparents, Dave and Lois Serrato; uncle and aunt, Darin and Gina Serrato; aunt and uncle, JC and Amy Green; a very special beloved aunt, Tina Rockwood; niece, Bailee Serrato; a nephew, Evan Serrato; and other relatives and friends.

David attended Long Beach Schools and was a graduate of the California Culinary Institute in San Francisco, CA.  He worked at Vrazel’s Fine Food Restaurant and the Almanett Bistro before becoming the sole caregiver for his parents and his brother, Ryan.  He loved fishing and won awards in different contests.  He also loved to plant a garden each and every year.  David was also a huge animal lover and rescued many animals.  

He was a devoted Christian and witnessed to anyone that would listen and he attended Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport.  

The family would like to thank everyone that has reached out to them. David Earl would want to thank Shane and Brooke Sims, Devin Slade, and especially his favorite aunt, Tina Rockwood, for always being there for him.   

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Animal Rescue at the Long Beach Police Department c/o Quentin Denny. 

Visitation will be on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 1 – 2 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  A memorial service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel.
