David Ralph Head, born March 31, 1943 to Marvin J and Lois B Ladner Head, departed this Earth on September 22, 2026.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia A Hatem Head; children, Kyle D (Shelly Bosarge) Head, Krista (Jason) Grover, Debbie Bird, Jared M (Jennifer Anderson) Head, and Kenny (Katrina Thomason) Head; grandchildren, Andrea Thompson, Tanner Smith, Thomas Grover, Jared Smith, Caden Grover, Emil Head, Levi Grover, Eric Grover, Franklin Bird, Sean Head, Natalie Grover, Jared A Head, Joshua Bird, Kylie Head, Kyle J Head, Grayson Grover, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Head was a decorated Veteran, serving in the Army National Guard for 36 years, with stations in Gulfport and Vicksburg. He was a combat engineer for the duration of his military service. As a devout man of faith, Mr. Head was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held various roles within the church including years of active service with the church’s Boy Scouts group. As an avid outdoorsman, one of his favorite roles was teaching young people how to navigate being outdoors. He was a role model to many people he came in contact with. He may be gone from this existence but he will live in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9 am -10 am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. A funeral service will be held at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Head Family Cemetery.
