David Michael Dry, age 55, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, January, 18, 2014.
Mr. Dry was born in Laurel to Willie Lee and Maxine Hinton Dry. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He served his country in the United States Army before joining the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, also while being a volunteer fireman. Mr. Dry retired from serving our state as a Deputy State Fire Marshall. He was a member of Gulf Coast Search and Rescue Team and the South MS Crisis Response Team. He loved helping people and had a passion for music. He played mandolin with several groups along the Coast ranging from Celtic to Bluegrass.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Tatum Dry; his children, Michael, Scott, and Melissa; his sister, Ramona Davidson; and grandson, Parker Sebastian Tatum.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at 2:00 p.m.
A reception will be held following services at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, W. Taylor Rd., Gulfport. You are invited to bring a musical instrument with you to help celebrate his life.
Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at a later time.
