David worked for Blacklidge Emulsions while earning an associate’s degree in construction in Mississippi and built a respected career in the construction industry serving as a construction superintendent for Yates Construction, Wharton-Smith, Inc., and Orocon Construction. Most recently, he was blessed to be employed with Roberts Wealth Management.
A devoted follower of Christ, David worshipped Jesus faithfully throughout his life along every step of his race. He was a member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport for 40 years. David was known for his unwavering faith, his cheerful and encouraging spirit, and his deep love for his family and friends. To know him was to know the true definition of a friend.
One of David’s favorite Bible verses was Romans 5:8 — “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This truth defined the way he lived and the hope he carried through every trial.
David was a passionate supporter of D'Iberville High School, proudly cheering on Warrior Football as a devoted member of the Warrior Nation.
In recent years, David and his family developed a deep connection with Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters (SWO), a Gospel-centered camp in Western North Carolina dedicated to equipping teenagers to follow Jesus through Bible teaching. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters in David’s honor. Donations can be made at https://swoutfitters.com/swofund/?form=swo1fund. Nothing would make David happier than seeing others come to know and follow Christ.
