It is with great sadness that the family of Todd Van Hyning announces his passing on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the age of 82 years.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Todd moved with his family as a young boy to Mobile, Alabama and spent the rest of his life on the Gulf Coast. Tall and athletic as a young man, he played high school football and basketball before attending Auburn University.
With his first marriage to Patricia Shipp he had two children, Allene and Daryol Todd, Jr. After divorcing, Todd married Judith Howard and had one child, Lynne. Todd also became a step-parent to Judy’s two sons from her previous marriage, David and Darryl Mauffray.
Throughout most of his adult life, Todd excelled in two areas: first, from 1963-1995 he was a top salesman for the Nabisco Company on the Gulf Coast, earning several awards and honors for his work. Second, he became an avid golfer, and was considered by many good enough to have been a pro.
In the mid-1980’s Todd married for the third time to Yanmuy Levy. They were together until her death in 2016.
Todd is also preceded in death by his parents that he adored, Willis and Ruth Van Hyning.
Todd will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Allene (Blaine) Waybright, Lynne Van Hyning (Perry Trautner); son, Daryol Todd Van Hyning, Jr.; brother, Don (Yvonne) Van Hyning; and grandson, Aaron Van Hyning.
