Daniel “Danny” Steven Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 74.
A native of Gulfport, MS, Danny was born on March 3, 1950, to Lloyd Miller Jr. and Bonlyan (Bobbie) McDaniel Miller, both of whom precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet Miller; his son, Adam Miller; and his three grandsons, Christian, Evan, and Sean; his sister, Elizabeth (Paul) Drake; and his brother James (Tonia) Miller, who held a special place in his heart; Danny was a proud uncle to his nieces Amanda (Trace) McGuire and their son Austin Hardin, as well as Jordyn (Tyler) Ladner and their children, Jax, Miller, and Lane. His family was a source of joy and pride, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Danny graduated from Harrison Central High School before serving in the Marine Corps Reserves, where he dedicated several years to supporting his country.
Danny had a lifelong passion for airplanes and the thrill of flight. He often found peace and joy in the skies, a hobby that brought him immense happiness. Over the years, he became not only an accomplished pilot but also a mentor to countless young aviators, always eager to share his knowledge and inspire the next generation of pilots. His love for aviation extended beyond his own pursuits; he dedicated countless hours to his beloved Shade Tree Airport, where he organized fun and memorable events that brought together friends, family, and the local community.
In addition to his love for aviation, Danny was deeply dedicated to his work. As the owner of Danny Miller Plumbing, he built a reputation for hard work, integrity, and excellence, always going the extra mile for his customers. His legacy lives on not only through the memories of those who knew and loved him, but also through the company he founded and the countless lives he touched in his community.
A celebration of Danny's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to honor his memory. The event will reflect his love for flying and airplanes and will be a tribute to the joy these hobbies brought him. The family will announce the details as they are finalized. In the meantime, they appreciate the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
November One Plumber Dan has gone wheels up for the final departure and climb out. With his trademark confidence and strength, he pushed the throttle forward to full open, just as he did throughout his life.
