July 28, 1995 — April 8, 2016

Dakota Eugene Rodgers, age 20, born in Spokane, Washington on July 28, 1995 passed away Friday, April 8, 2016.
Dakota is survived by his parents Debin Renelle Brown (Pate), Jason D. Dakota was an Army Calvary Scout 19D, Retired, a Gulfport Police Explorer, a Gulfport Sea Cadet, a member of Gulf Coast Ballet Theater, Yokosuka National Players, Yokosuka High School Football, Stone County High School Football and the Marine Military Academy.
Dakota loved to play football, dance, skateboard, act, sing, play guitar, and snowboard. He was up for any activity rock climbing, flying a plane, and hiking to the top of Mt. Fuji, to joining in to be in a play for drama club. He was friends with everyone, any group, and never embarrassed to try new things and joined ballet. He sure was your guy. He could pick up just about any new talent and join in; he was never afraid to try; that was what was so special about him. For him, every group or click, lines meant nothing; he was a part of everything, a friend to all.
As a son, he was helpful, and not just a son but our friend, he would make everything fun, from comedy to dancing in the living room and making up a new song. He pulled you into the joy he had.
As a brother, words cannot describe, what a wonderful brother, loving and protective. Sidney and Dakota were friends.
