D. Maxine White Lefeve, age 85, of Gulfport, passed away on August 30, 2015 after a short illness associated with a stroke.
She was a graduate of MGCCC- Perkinston and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. After moving to Gulfport from New Orleans, she assisted her husband with his dental practice. As the 'neighborhood mother' she will be remembered for being kind-hearted and selfless. Along with being a magnificent cook, she provided meals for volunteers at Trinity following hurricane Katrina. In her spare time, she was a founding member of the Woodglen Garden Club, honing her skills as an avid gardener, and was a supporter of the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Zelma Johnson White; her siblings, Juanita Winfree, Louise Kihyet, and Willard White; a niece, Gay Denmark; and a nephew, Claude Bilbo.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dr. Robert Ashton Lefeve; her children, Pattie Lefeve and Mike Lefeve, both of Gulfport; and a brother, David White of Vicksburg.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 1-2 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, Gulfport, in the Sanctuary.
The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the Sanctuary.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport.
