Cynthia Kay Smith

d. April 20, 2015

Cynthia Kay Smith, 57, of Saucier, MS died April 20, 2015. She was born in Gulfport, MS the last child of eight for Violet and Elmer Nobles. She grew up in what was formally referred to as Lyman, MS, and is now Gulfport, MS. She never ventured far from the magnolia state; however, she did spend some of her years in the state of Washington. Once married she found herself back in MS.
In 1981 she was married to Terry Wayne Smith at First Baptist Church of Orange Grove in Gulfport, MS.
They have three children.
Cynthia spent many of her years doing what she will be most remembered for; being a loving, caring, and compassionate mother to her children. Her most significant job titles (meaning the ones her husband and children knew her as) were cook, cleaning lady, counselor, chauffeur, team mom, treasurer of the high school softball team, and president of the middle school football booster club. Most importantly she was known as mom and wife. Along with showing unconditional love to her children and husband she desired to share this love with her extended family and friends. She never met a stranger. She believed in the power of family and the strength one could possess through the closeness a family brings.
She leaves her beloved husband Terry; her daughter Miranda, her son Kevin, and her son Michael and his wife Lauren and step-daughter Adreyona of Meraux, LA. She also leaves her mother-in-law Gladys of Crenshaw, MS, sister Pam of Port Orchard, WA, and many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother Violet, father Elmer; brothers Mike, Ray, Billy, Pat, and Steve; and sister Elaine.
On Monday evening, April 20 she peacefully went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.
She died at her residence in Saucier, MS with her family by her side.
Services will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00am. A visitation will be from 9:00am until service time. The burial will be at Finley Cemetery, Finley Cemetery Road, Gulfport, MS.
