Cynthia Kay Claytor Batey

Cynthia Kay Batey, age 67, of Tampa, FL, passed away on July 29, 2025, in Tampa.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Claytor and her mother, Pat Claytor.

She is survived by her children, Brandon Batey and Brendon Batey; a daughter-in-law, Crystal Batey; a sister, Melinda Freeman; sister-in-law, Cindy Batey; her beloved pets, Cherish Batey and Chloie Batey; and other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Batey was a native of Biloxi, MS and a long time resident of Tampa. She was married to a military service member for more than 20 years. She worked for the armed forces at several military bases and retired from Larson Juhl. She loved spending time with family, shopping, and planning surprises.

Cindy’s warmth and kindness will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

A private memorial will be held in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

The Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
