Curtis J. Simmons, age 64 of Biloxi, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 33 years, Ellen Anselmo Simmons; his parents, Warren and Louise Simmons and his sister, Paulette Martin.

Curtis is survived by his children, Duane Brown and Leonora Brown; his grandchildren, Christopher Desselles and Kalea Williams; his brothers, Gary (Roxanne) Simmons, Henry (Jamey) Simmons and Darrin (Tyla) Simmons and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Biloxi, Curtis was a proud graduate of St. Martin High School. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army. After a brief time of service, he was honorably discharged and returned home to the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Curtis soon began what would become a lifelong career in upholstery. With a natural talent and dedication to his craft, he opened his own business, Simmons Upholstery, where he took great pride in his work and was truly gifted at what he did.

Outside of his work, Curtis had many passions and hobbies that brought him joy. He loved fishing, working on boats and vehicles, collecting guns, and attending NASCAR races. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to him, and he treasured the laughter, memories, and time shared with those he loved.

He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gathering to celebrate Curtis’s life will be held from 9:00 am – 10:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County. Burial will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park Cemetery.
