Warrant Officer One Curtis Everett Quinn, U.S. Army, Ret., age 83, of D'Iberville, passed away on August 11, 2016 in D'Iberville.
He was preced­ed in death by a daughter, Davida Verniell Jones; a son, Curtis Lance Quinn; his first wife, Davida Ellen Quinn; a brother, James Quinn; and his parents, Wesley C. Quinn and Vina Quinn.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Beverly H. Quinn of D'Iberville; his children, Wesley Quinn (Teresa) of Taylorsville, MS, Rene' Tucker (Joe) of Pleasant Grove, AL, Bryan C. Quinn of D'Iberville, Jennifer Weltlich (Jason) of Canton, GA, and Kenny Frost (Sissy) of Brandon, MS; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty two great-grandchildren.
Curtis served in the U.S. Army and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Divi­sion and served with the 20th Special Forces Group, one of two Army National Guard groups for the United States Army Special Forces, and was a member of the Special Forces Association, Chapter 79. He believed the greatest sight in the world was that of the American Flag blowing in the wind.
After retirement from the U.S. Army, he worked in law enforcement for many years. His career included work­ing with law enforcement agencies in Birmingham, Al, Vestavia Hill, AL, Magee, MS, Smith County, MS and Taylorsville, MS where he served as its Chief of Police. He then served as Chief of Security for the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
He was the past owner of Quinn's Kitchen in Tay­lorsville.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sun­day, August 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd at Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Swetman Cemetery, D'Iberville.
