Courtney Francis Picou of Diamondhead, MS passed away on October 6th after a brief illness.
He was born in 1932 in New Orleans to the late Arthur Picou and the late Mildred Picou Wilson. He attended school at St. Paul's School in Covington, Louisiana. He studied Chemical Engineering and earned his PhD from Tulane University. Courtney served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed with ExxonMobil for many years. He was the owner and Founder of C.F. Picou Associates in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, an international Chemical Engineering consulting firm.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Marie Rivet Picou; a daughter, Alyce Marie Picou and sons, Courtney David (Constance) and Douglas James (Sarah); grandchildren, Aimee (Matthew) Berniard, Carley Picou and Samantha Picou; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Jesse Sr.) Lyons and Trudy (Thomas) Rafferty; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Picou and sister, A'laine Picou Murray.
He was adventurous from an early age including starting his young family in Indonesia. A zealous long-distance private pilot for 52 years, he was a mentor of the Diamondhead Young Eagles. His favorite hobbies included flying, running, boating, and history. Above all Courtney loved his family, who will always be grateful for the great times we shared with him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, November 10th at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln Delisle Rd. Pass Christian, MS. Burial will be private.
