Constancio S. Merced

Constancio S. Merced, age 84 of Biloxi, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Demetrio and Digna Merced and his brother, Prudencio Merced.

Constancio is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Pacita Merced; his children, Carmen (Gary) Rollings, Rebecca (Ed) Wise, Eduardo (Jessica) Merced and Hendricks (Flordeliz) Merced; his grandchildren, Gretchen Doubleday, Gregory Rollings, Gabe Rollings, Charles Wise, James Wise, Alice Mullins, Arianna Roessling, Loren Merced and Edrie Merced; his great grandchildren, Eric Doublyday, Evan Doubleday, Bailey Wise and Beau Wise and his sisters, Felipa Olaer and Perpetua Merced.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Constancio met the love of his life at an early age. He and Ms. Pacita shared 63 wonderful years together, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

In 1994, Constancio and Pacita moved to Hawaii, where they lived for two years before making their home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where they would spend the remainder of their lives.

A master carpenter by trade, Constancio worked for Yates Construction for many years. He took great pride in his work and was a true craftsman who could build and create just about anything. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found woodworking and building projects around their home. He also loved spending time in his garden, where he grew an abundance of vegetables and many different varieties of flowers. He enjoyed raising chickens as well and looked forward to gathering fresh eggs each day.

Constancio was a lifelong fisherman and loved being on the water. One of his proudest accomplishments was building his own sailboat with a wooden hull, a testament to both his skill and his love of the craft. His talent for working with his hands was evident throughout his life. While living in the Philippines, he even built and tended a rice field on five acres of land, dedicating himself to caring for it before eventually moving to the United States.

Above all, Constancio was a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated provider. He worked hard throughout his life to care for and provide for his family, always putting their needs before his own. He was a generous man with a kind heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Constancio will be remembered for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, remarkable craftsmanship, and, most importantly, the love and devotion he had for his family. His life was one of hard work, love, and quiet dedication, and the many lives he touched will carry his memory in their hearts.

Prayer service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., West Jackson County, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
