Connor Wiggins Lowery, 70 years old, passed away on Sunday December 23, 2012, after two months of illness.
Preceded in death by Grace Wiggins Lowery and Houston Ford Lowery Sr., he leaves his brother, Houston Ford Lowery Jr., 3 nephews, one niece and their children.
Connor was a born and raised in Gulfport, MS. He was in the United States Navy for 6 years before attending Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and then the University of Southern Mississippi to obtain his undergraduate degree. Connor then attended Mississippi State University where he received his Master's degree in Education. After receiving this degree, he worked as a guidance counselor in Meridian, MS before coming back to the Gulf Coast. Connor retired from the Ocean Springs School District at 62 years of age after many years as a diversified education counselor at Ocean Springs High School. Connor was a member First Methodist Church of Gulfport and an active member in the community there.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery in Gulfport.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, assisted the family with arrangements.
