Clements "C.J." James Malley

November 23, 1932 — December 13, 2023

Kiln

Clements James (C.J.) Malley, 91, of Kiln, Mississippi passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born on November 23, 1932, to Alphonse and Leontine Ladner Malley.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Lottie Necaise Malley; and his siblings: Baby Malley, Oswald Malley, Leander Malley, Felicia Woods, Lugis Malley, Gracie Hoda, Gladys Cuevas, Eldon Malley, Dorothy Lasher, Harbert Malley; and his first wife of 7 years, Geraldine N. Malley.

C.J. served his country from 1951-1955 in the United States Navy as a Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class.  He was employed at Chevron USA for 34 years and retired as a Regional Foreman.

Dancing with his sweetheart, Lottie, was one of his favorite pastimes as well as spending time with his family. He enjoyed collecting coins, cheering for the New Orleans Saints, playing chess, checkers, and backgammon, and being the biggest fan of the Hancock Central Lady Hawks.

He was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Dedeaux community. C.J. was the founder and 1st Grand Knight of the Sacred Heart Dedeaux Knights of Columbus council #12331. He was also a 4th degree Knight. He was a charter member as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. He liked to volunteer at the Dedeaux Bazaar.

C.J. was a loving and adoring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather and friend, known to many as Boots and Uncle Boots.  He is survived by his devoted children: Chuck (Maggie) Malley, Monica (Dean) Altemus, Charla (Jim) Bouchie, Perry Malley; his grandchildren: Skyler and Madison Malley, Brent and Megan Altemus, Hunter and Hannah Bouchie, Travis Preston; sister: Cecile Ladner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He made everyone feel special and loved. He was a very hard worker, optimistic, quick-witted, kind, and loving person. Many people received his “words of wisdom” as he always seemed to offer them to those he loved.

The family would like to thank Andrea Saucier, Nelda Gay Ladner, Tina West, Shirley Valenza, Renee Cuevas and Belinda Smith for their loving care and support. A special thanks to Perry, our brother, for his unwavering love and dedication to our Daddy.
