Claudetta Needham Rosetti, age 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in her death by her parents, JW Needham and Ruby Mae Miller; her brother, Harold Wayne Needham; her son, George Michael Rosetti and her loving husband, George F. Rosetti.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Parker and her husband Dwayne P. Parker of Gulfport, and Melinda Rosetti of Gulfport; her sisters-in-law, Diann Ladner of Ocean Springs and Vivian Rosetti of Gulfport; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Hunter (Darryl Hunter), and Alicia N. Powell (Mark Powell); and her great-grandchildren, Cole S. Hunter, Grant P. Hunter, Cooper T. Powell and Hailey Grace Powell.
Claudetta dated and married her high school sweetheart, George F. Rosetti. She was an administrative assistant for a law and title abstract company. She followed and supported her husband to all his ball games when he was a player and later a coach. She was known to his players as Mama Rosetti. She treated his players with compassion and respect and would call them all her “other children”. Even when they had children of their own, Claudetta would make sure the family was all in attendance at every game possible.
When her grandchildren were born, she never stopped. She loved them more than life itself.
She followed them along in their endeavors, from school to sports to marriage and children of their own. She never expected the love she would have for her four amazing great grandchildren. And once again she never stopped with support. She has been to sporting events, schools, programs and would even watch some events on her phone when she could not travel.
Every opportunity she had was dedicated to her family and her church. She was involved with the Altar Society at St. James Catholic Church. She looked forward to the mass, the meetings and of course the luncheons.
Her memory will live on forever in our hearts.
The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers, calls and concerns for Claudetta during her time of struggle. Special thanks to all the Doctors and nursing staff at Memorial Hospital Gulfport. A very special thanks to Dr. Mullen, Dr. Burwell, Kristi Kenno PA-C, Dr. Summer Allen, Justin Rice NP, Dr. Roussel and Dana S., NP and Dr. James Erwin for being so kind and caring.
