Mike E. Twilbeck Jr., beloved husband and father, passed away at the age of 93, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on June 21, 1932, Mike lived a life most only dream of, one filled with laughter, music, and an unwavering spirit that proudly declared, I did it My Way.
Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Mike has been married to his Burning Love for over 74 year, GloriaDean. At a young age, Mike joined the Army National Guards and shortly after joined the New Orleans Police Department to follow in his father’s footsteps. Later years Mike became a well-known general contractor. He won numerous awards; contractor of the year and was featured in magazines. He retired from the Army National Guards, and the New Orleans Police Department after 21+ years of service. He was All Shook Up having 3 beautiful children, Darlene, Susan, and Michael.
Beyond his professional life, Mike was known for his infectious spirit and unmistakable charm. To those who knew him, he was simply “Elvis.” A true fan, through and through, he embraced the King’s spirit in everything he did, right down to the hair, the sharp outfits, and let’s not forget the Elvis glasses. Whether he was singing, or performing in numerous Ultimate Elvis Contest, or just sharing Memories, he brought happiness to everyone around him. Right up until his final days, he lived to entertain. For Mike, “Taking Care of Business” wasn’t just a motto, it was a way of life.
He will be remembered by his family and friends with smiles and laughter, for his unwavering love for life. Mike is survived by his wife GloriaDean, his sister Mickey, his three children, Darlene, Susan, and Michael, and his 21 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His memories will never be lost or forgotten.
The family has asked for those to join Mike and family at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on November 7, 2025. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. A celebration of Mike's life will follow at 12:00 pm.
The family warmly invites all who knew and loved Mike to join them in honoring his life at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, November 7, 2025.
All are welcome to come together in prayer, remembrance, and fellowship.
