Clare Vega Trahan, age 88, of Diamondhead, passed away on December 27, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frank Trahan, Sr.; parents, Henry Vega and Frances B. Vega; and a sister, Catherine Vega Senn.
Survivors include her children, Linda Ann Trahan Plaisance, Joseph Frank Trahan, Jr., John Michael Trahan, Thomas Henry Trahan, Janet Clare Trahan Guillory, Joanne Marie Trahan Zeringue, and Robert Charles Trahan; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Trahan was an outstanding and dynamic educator serving the Jefferson Parish School System more than 30 years as a teacher and later as a principal and was recognized as Principal of the Year. She was a devout catholic and active at Annunciation Catholic Church and later Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir and Religious Education Director. She was a member of the Bay Chorale and she enjoyed traveling.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 30, 2016, from 9 am - 11 am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9062 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian, MS and the rosary will be recited at 10:30 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. A graveside service will be at 2:30 pm in Garden of Memories, Metairie, LA.
