Clara Ann Bremenkamp, age 85, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Gulfport.
Ann was born in Conroe, Texas, and was reared in Montgomery, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University at the age of 20 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1953, Ann met her partner for life and was married in 1954. She became the model military wife having to move eight times in the first fourteen years of marriage. A devoted wife and mother, Ann chose to forgo a career until her youngest son was in high school. She then worked as a medical secretary for Biloxi OBGYN until she retired in 1989
Ann's greatest pleasure in life was loving, teaching, and spoiling her grandchildren. Many hours were filled with mentoring and assisting them with their school assignments. One of her greatest achievements was teaching her granddaughter how to be an astute shopper.
Many of her leisure hours were shared with her best friend, Dee Moran, with whom she played the one dollar slot machines. They spent many pleasant hours solving the problems of the world and life in general.
Ann was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Kyle Bremenkamp, and her parents, John and Birdie Mae Powell. She leaves behind to celebrate her life, her husband of 63 years, Glenn; her children, John Douglas (Rose) Bremenkamp of Gulfport and Kimberly (Glenn) Killman of Biloxi; grandchildren Quentin Douglas Bremenkamp of Brandon, MS and Kelcey Rose Bremenkamp of Gulfport; sisters, Harriet Cummings and Shirley Martin of Montgomery, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. following a short prayer, graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. in the Christus section of Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport, MS.
We wish to express our thanks and appreciation for the loving and tender care given to our loved one by the nurses, staff, and management of St. Joseph and Canon Hospices of Gulfport.
It was Ann's desire that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) in lieu of flowers.
