Christopher Nasir Hakeem Brown, age 16, passed away on June 10, 2024. He was known for his kind heart, love for music, and dedication to helping others.

Born to Osavine Brown and Ola Mae Turbin on October 3, 2007. Christopher was a beloved son, stepson of Willie Hardy, and cherished brother to Teshawna Tyalor, Jacob Giddings, Sampson Chenier, and Willie Hardy III. He was also a loving stepbrother to Tiana Carter and Ava Hardy.

Chris had a passion for music that was evident in everything he did. He enjoyed playing the guitar and spent countless hours listening to and discovering new music. His talent and enthusiasm for music brightened the lives of those around him.

Devoted to his faith, Chris was an active member of youth church communities at both Empowerment Ministries and Faith Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS. His spiritual journey was an integral part of his life, and he found joy in participating in church activities and events.

In addition to his immediate family, Chris is survived by his aunts: Jessica Brown, Agnes Brown, Shirley Brown, Shirley Ann Kennedy, Jelessa Tarbin, Neashell Lewis and Dorthy Clemons. Also uncles: Danuel Brown, Antwain Nettles, and Charles Brown and great-aunts, Archbishop Robert L. Burns (Lady Joyce) of Lumberton, MS, Sammie (Linda) Lawrence, Apostle Vera (Arnold) Chapman both of Lucedale, MS; Pastor Mary Lawrence of Moss Point, MS; APOSTLE Abraham (Debra) Lawrence of Bexley, MS; Angie (Sammie) Johnson of McLain, MS; Charles (Mae Sue) Smith of Statelines, MS; Shemekia (Minister Neal) Nicholas of Pascagoula, MS; Nena (Tim) Owen’s of Ocean Springs, MS; Cathy (Calvin) Howard of Biloxi, MS; Nicholas Lawrence of Moss Point, MS; Gloria (Lee) Jackson Minnie Burrage of Gulfport, MS; and Maggie (Roland). Also his gradma Alice Hardy Brown who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly. A loving god mother, Chatara (Charlie) Wilson. Chris leaves his favorite cousins, Aniyha Woods and Jayden Minter. He also had a host of cousins and friends that loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the Empowerment Ministry (11924 Klein Road, Gulfport, MS).  His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 at the Empowerment Ministry with burial to follow in Finley Cemetery.
