Christiane Renee Denis Sharp

Christiane Renee Denis Sharp, born on February 25, 1935, in Vierzon, France, left this world on February 20, 2026, just days shy of her 91st birthday. A beloved homemaker and master seamstress, Christiane dedicated her life to her family and her craft, creating a warm and loving home that was the heart of her family gatherings and celebrations.

Christiane was the proud spouse of Martin H. Sharp, a 22-year Air Force veteran, whose memory she cherished throughout her life. Together, they enjoyed many pleasurable moments boating and fishing, basking in the beauty of nature and the joy of being together. Watching her boys play sports, and perform in school band events brought her so much joy. Her commitment to her family extended beyond her immediate household; she was an active and devoted member of Handsboro United Methodist Church, where she found community and spiritual connection.

She was a recipient of 20 year service awards for volunteer work with Gulfport Feed My Sheep, and Keesler Hospital Auxiliary. She also was an avid tennis player winning many awards throughout her time playing.

She is survived by her children, Kirk Sharp (Donna), Cecil Sharp (Patti), and Cy Sharp (Michael), who carry forth her legacy of love and resilience. Christiane also leaves behind a cherished group of grandchildren: Claire Gallagher (Carleton), Brian Sharp (Samantha), Emily Jimenez (Ryan), Kristin Sandberg (Gene), Madeleine Vest (Jacob), and Cameron Sharp (Zoe). Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her great-grandchildren, Abby Gallagher, Scott Gallagher, Skylar Sharp, Luke Jimenez, Olivia Jimenez, Ethan Sandberg, Peyton Sandberg, Valor Vest, Caleb Vest, and Calum Sharp, who brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Ms. Arlene Hughes, CNA, and Ms. Kayann Campbell, CNA, for the exceptional care given to Christiane during her final days.

A visitation will be held on February 28, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at Handsboro United Methodist Church, located at 2333 Demaret Drive, Gulfport, MS 39507, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
