Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Edgar Williams, age 92, passed away February 21, 2018, in Gulfport.
The Holt, FL native proudly served his country for 30 years. Mr. Williams also retired from Civil Service at Keesler AFB, and was the owner of Blue Mule Ceramics. He resided in Long Beach, for over 50 years, and was a founding member of North Long Beach Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Maxine Williams.
Edgar is survived by his children, Elizabeth Cannon, Shirley Tillman (Donald), Mary Huffman (Joe), and Gayle Johnson; nine grandchildren, Annette Sanderson, Jacki Harkins, Donald "Plug" Tillman, Derek Tillman, Jessica Lee, Lauren Singleton, Candice Teeter, Blake Huffman, and John Andrew Huffman; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Gulfport Care Center where Mr. Williams was a resident for the last three years, as well as the staff of Garden Park Hospital for the great care they provided in his final days.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach with visitation from 11:00 AM until the service.
Burial will follow in Long Beach City Cemetery.
