Cherrill Lea Erickson

Cherrill Lea Erickson (Smith), passed away peacefully on Sunday June 9, 2024 after a courageous fight against pancreatic cancer.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John Erickson and the love of her life; her children, Austin Erickson and April, Brandon Erickson, Courtney Lane and Tom, Derrick Erickson, and Emily Erickson; and her beautiful grandchildren, Logan Erickson and Madeline Lane.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Reverend James and Leila Smith (Furman); and her stepmother, Caroline Smith (Copeland).

Cherrill was born in Homewood, IL in 1956 and moved to Duluth, MN where she met John. They lived in multiple locations during their working lives and retired to Gulfport, MS where they enjoyed living near the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Cherrill was involved with Lifetime Fitness from the early days of the company which fueled her passion for water aerobics and leading to some of her most cherished friendships.

She will be missed by us all and all the people that she touched with her warm smile and genuine love for Christ which she shared with everyone.

A Celebration of Life is being planned.
