Charlotte A. Schaeffer, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Diamondhead, Mississippi. Born on June 22, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Charlotte lived a life marked by devotion to her family and a warm spirit that touched all who knew her.

Her life journey began in New Orleans, a city rich in culture and history, where she was born and raised. Charlotte’s career as a restauranteur showcased not only her passion for culinary arts but also her commitment to community and family. She built a legacy grounded in hard work and heartfelt service, qualities that defined both her personal and professional life. Charlotte’s presence enriched every place she called home, most recently in Diamondhead, MS, where she spent her final days surrounded by love and comfort.

Charlotte’s family was central to her life. She is survived by her son, Todd Schaeffer, and her daughter, Christy Schales, along with Christy’s husband, Jesse Schales. She was a loving grandmother to Todd Schaeffer, Jr., Tyler Schaeffer, Jesse Schales, Jr., Onyx Schales, and Brooke Schales, who were a source of joy and pride for her. Her siblings, Bruce Brown (Dena), Shawn Gress (Todd Gress), and Donald Roberts (Tina), remain as living connections to her cherished early years, as do her sisters-in-law, Sandra Roberts and Michelle Esteve. and brother-in-law, Laurence Schaeffer (Judy).

The breadth of Charlotte’s extended family includes nieces and nephews who remember her fondly: James Schaeffer (Lisa), Lauren Stone (Tommy), Brian Schaeffer, Larry Schaeffer (Jessie), Jessica Rainey (Lynn), Jose' Berrios (Melissa), Maria Berrios, Piero Berrios, Leslie Webber, Michael Roberts (Wendy), and Keith Roberts (Amanda), Jeremy Brown (Elva), Brandon Brown (Jade), Lauren Bourman (Doug), Jeffery Brown, Rick Esteve (Rhonda), Scott Esteve (Delena), and Jason Esteve (Molly). Each name reflects a thread in the intricate tapestry of Charlotte’s life, woven with love and lasting bonds.

Charlotte was preceded in death by those who were deeply significant in her life, including her father, Douglas Roberts, Sr.; mother, Adele Brown; step-father, Boyce Brown; brother, Douglas Roberts, Jr.; sister, Rosiland Webber; and her husband, Michael J. Schaeffer, Jr. She also mourned the losses of her infant child, Michael J. Schaeffer III, infant grandchild, Baylen Schaeffer, and niece Shawn Webber, who remain forever in her loving memory.

A visitation to honor Charlotte’s memory will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home located at 9113 Kiln Delisle Road in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Immediately following the visitation, a prayer service will take place from 2:00 p.m. at the same location.

Charlotte’s legacy is one of enduring love and family devotion. Her life’s story will continue to be told and cherished by those who loved her, grateful for the profound impact she made through her kindness, strength, and dedication to those around her. As family and friends gather to remember Charlotte A. Schaeffer, they honor the beautiful life she led and the indelible mark she leaves behind.
