Charlice Jeanette Byrd Garner, age 66 of Gulfport, passed away on July 3, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. "Dub" Garner and a son, Roy E. "Skip" Langston, IV.
Survivors include her children, Angela Barnes and her husband Steve, and Jason Garner and his wife Holli, a stepson, Chris Garner, her father, James Byrd and his wife Dolores, her mother, Mildred Sampson Peterson, a brother, Steve Byrd, 3 sisters, Debbie Turner and her husband Lee, Trina Wyatt and her husband John, and Janet Erickson and her husband John. Charlice was most proud as serving as "Nana" to her grandchildren: Wendy, Raven, Addyson, Holden, Justus, Kiran, Taylor, Quint, Kayla, Aprie, Codee, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Garner worked as a bus aide for 13 years with the Harrison County Child Development Center, and she enjoyed shopping, singing, drawing/painting, working in the yard, and bowling. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Biloxi River Baptist Church where she loved her church family. The family would like to thank the staff of Canon Hospice for their care and concern during her illness.
Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2013, from 6 - 9 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Finley Cemetery.
