Charles ""Sam"" Wnukowski, 94, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Wnukowski was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Annie Wnukowski.
Survivors include his daughter & caretaker, Lorraine St. John (Marco); daughter, Nancy Strong; and son, Robert Wnukowski (Linda); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wnukowski was a native of Carteret, New Jersey and was a long-time resident of Biloxi before living in Ocean Springs with his daughter. He served in the Pacific Theatre during WWII and continued with a 25 years career in the U. S. Air Force, retiring as a TSgt at Keesler AFB, Biloxi. He then worked for 15 years as an Electronics Instructor in Civil Service.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching football; and was an avid ham radio operator.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m.
Interment with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South MS (www.hssm.org).
