Mr. Charles Albert Roy, age 58, resident of Dixon Springs, TN, and temporary resident of the Coast, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Roy was born in New Orleans, LA and served in the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise. He worked in many fields during his career including offshore, fireman, sheriff's deputy, state trooper, and general construction. He enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Hudson Roy, Sr.; stepfather, Edward Doty.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharlene Roy of TN, formerly of Houma, LA; his mother, Beverly Godcheaux Doty of Denham Springs, LA; children, Charles Albert Roy, Jr. of Romulus, MI, Dana Marie Richardson of Dixon Springs, TN; siblings, Beverly Quezada of Denham Springs, LA, Mack Hudson LaRoy, of Cottontown, TN, Lois Roy Irick of Bayou Blue, LA, Sidney John Roy of Morgan City, LA; grandchildren, Madison Roy, Virginia Roy, Caleb Richardson, Haley Roy, Tyler Roy, and Joshua Roy.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Thibodeaux Assembly of God at 11 am. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery in St. Rose, LA.
