Charles Floyd ""Son"" Orr, Jr., age 87, of Gulfport, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013.
Mr. Orr was born in Gulfport to Charles Floyd Orr, Sr. and Clara Richards Orr. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, where he fought in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from the Navy after 22 years of service and began his civil service career as a fireman at the NCBC-Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Boots Bahm and Virginia ""Ginger"" Lindsey; and brothers, Gilbert Orr and Franklin ""Buck"" Orr.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ola Bernice Roberts Orr of Gulfport, and numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy.
The family would like to express a special ""thank you"" to Misty Bertucci, their caregiver.
