Charles Mitchell Kapp, age 54, of Long Beach, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2013 after a valiant battle with cancer with his family by his side.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Lassabe Kapp; and his grandparents, Sadie Renfro and William W. Kuhn.
He is survived by his parents, Howard and Sally Kapp of Long Beach; a sister, Darlene Wixon and her husband, Mike, of Pascagoula; two brothers, Glenn Kapp and Richard Kapp, both of Long Beach; two nieces, Ginger Seaton and her husband, Ryan, of Slidell and Jill Becker and her husband, Jared, of Pascagoula; a great niece, Audrey Becker; a great nephew, Eli Seaton; and his favorite pet, Sammy.
He was a graduate of Long Beach High School, Class of 1976, and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Mississippi State University. He spent his work career in the oil industry as an electrical designer, most recently in Anchorage, Alaska. He loved fishing and was committed to caring for his family. He was always a ray of sunshine to his family and friends and never complained during his illness.
A special thanks from his family goes out to Singing River Health System Hospice of Light and his nurses, Rhonda and Shekindah and to Dr. Brian Persing and his staff.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Noon at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
